Spotify Review
Posted by: Colin Smith
not to long ago I did a post about Spotify and gave you a link to go get an invite. well since then I have been playing with the service a bit, just on my PC, as I am not going to pay for the service just yet. My impressions are below.
Pretty good content list – I like more of the current music but I also like to go back and listen to some things that I liked when I was young and Spotify has most of the content that I am looking for. They haveĀ nice search function that helps me find these tracks that I have not heard in so long but the search is not always perfect.
Great Quality – The sound is very good especially for a streaming service. Now I am curious what it would be like on my mobile phone but since I am not a paying premium member I have not been able to try that. But the quality from my PC is great and I do not seem to have much lag at all between tracks or just starting a random track when I push play.
Commercials – I am using the free spotify but I still think that they have a lot of commercials. Not so many that I am going to stop using it but it is annoying. That being said I understand that they have to make money from advertising since I am not a paying customer at this time.
Shared Playlists – I think that it is very cool that I can create and share playlists and listen to others playlists as well. I have found that feature exposes me to music that I may have never found before and this has even lead to me purchasing a track that I heard for the first time on Spotify.
I am sure that I am missing some things but in my mind those are the highlights. Go check it out and follow the above link to get your invite. I checked today and it is still working.
Thanks
