Tandberg Data announces free Hyper-V backup software with removable disk system

Tandberg Data said this week that its RDX QuikStor removable disk system will include a free version of Altaro Software’s Hyper-V Backup software.

The free Hyper-V product will allow users to back up two VMs to a QuikStor appliance, according to Tandberg, and is available for download off the company’s website.

For additional VM backups, QuikStor users can get a 20 percent discount on the purchase of the standard edition of Hyper-V, which allows five backups. (There is an “unlimited” version of Hyper-V, but it appears that the discount doesn’t apply to it.)

Earlier this month, Tandberg released a firmware update for their QuikStation product that added several new storage configurations to the system.
