Many data storage administrators currently use VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) to plug in third party media to their data backup environment. However, with the recent release of vSphere, some small- to medium-sized business (SMBs) are considering switching to vSphere from VCB. Is this a good move? How are backups similar/different in vSphere than in VCB? What are the pros and cons of taking this step? What are the new features in vSphere?

I talked to Greg Schulz, founder and senior analyst at The StorageIO Group about vSphere and VCB.

Listen to his responses in the podcast below.
