How WAN optimization can help with disaster recovery

Riverbed Technology recently released the Steelhead 7050 appliance, which has new features such as solid-state drives (SSDs) and 10 GB Ethernet that are supposed to enhance WAN optimization for disaster recovery, but how do they do that? Are there other potential features that could enhance WAN optimization? And what does the future look like for this technology?

I talked to Paul Kirvan, the secretary of the Business Continuity Institute and business continuity consultant and Nik Rouda, director of product marketing at Riverbed Technology about WAN optimization.
