How virtualization can help in an SMB environment

Mkellett Megan Kellett Profile: Mkellett

Data migration can be a frustrating data backup process for any storage environment, including small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs). But storage virtualization can help ease the process of data migration for SMBs.

I sat down with Marc Staimer, president of Dragon Slayer Consulting, to talk about how virtualization can help an SMB environment. I asked him the following questions:

  • Is data migration a tedious process for SMBs? Why?
  • Can storage virtualization make data migration easier for SMBs? How?
  • What affordable storage virtualization products/vendors are available for SMBs?
  • What should users be wary of when deploying storage virtualization? For example, is it hard to back out of it if it’s not working?

Listen to the podcast below and let us know what your thoughts are on storage virtualization as well.
