Many people have implemented Microsoft Hyper-V servers in their virtual data backup environments, and it’s important to know the differences between backing up Hyper-V virtual servers vs. VMware virtual servers. For example, although they both use Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) to ensure better backup performance, VMware uses it much differently than Hyper-V.

I talked with W. Curtis Preston, executive editor at TechTarget and independent backup expert, to  find out more differences between Hyper-V and VMware, the different approaches to backing up Hyper-V servers and the challenges you might come across when backing up your Hyper-V virtual servers. Listen to the podcast below and let us know what your thoughts are on backing up Hyper-V virtualized servers.
