As it sounds like you are more of a telecom / network engineer, I would recommend checking out the Cisco certifications instead of Microsoft. I suspect that is something that would be more applicable in your line of work. You could work for a reseller / consulting company with a combination of your years of telecom experience and Cisco knowledge.
