I think I am the reverse of Dude (and also old enough to be his parent). I set up a Myspace page a while back and then thought "so what?". It doesn't really do anything, and I was already using Blogger. ... the same with SecondLife... sorry, too much to do in the real life to learn how to fly around in that one... then my offspring told me they were using Facebook, I joined up, and haven't stopped yet. Why? Its easy to use, I don't need no fancy homepage, and it has personally useful apps, especially for cataloging CDs and books. ...now, will it be a moneymaker? I will defer to no less than the Economist magazine, which said 'no'. Social networking is like email, which doesn't really make money but is used to lead you to sites that do make money. Social networking will be the same, so if Mark Z wants to cash in, he should do it soon... does eBay stiil have lots of cash to blow on bad acquisitions?

I read the first post too, now I have to go find out about Ning....
