I was fine looking at Facebook's mobile page through the Chrome browser on my Android phone, but decided, "What the heck - I'll install the Facebook app." So I did, and the main difference was that the app made an annoying little buzzing sound any time one of my hundreds of "friends" posted something. Whoopie-doo.

I have now uninstalled that app.

Okay - from a marketers standpoint, I can see how an app that reminds me it's there is a good thing. But as a user, not good at all. Something to think about if you're deciding whether your company is going to have mobile apps or stick to a mobile website: "How much annoyance will my customer tolerate before they cut me off entirely?"
