I've been a systems analyst for over twenty years and Vista is the most frustrating, user "unfriendly" OS I've ever used. I've always avoided being on the "bleeding-edge" of technology with regards to what I recommend to my customers. With that in mind, I purchased a new Dell system with Vista installed about six months ago as a test platform. I've had nothing but trouble with it. My recommendation to my customers is to stick with XPpro until at least service pack 2. After what I've seen in the first release of Vista I would not be in a hurry to jump on service pack 1.

I read an article a couple of weeks ago about some of the hardware vendors quietly offering an XPpro downgrade. As yet, I've been unable to substantiate that with Dell.
