And the VARs gathering here at Tech Data’s TechEDG and Technology Solutions Tour, this week are, indeed, happy to be here.  Most of the attendees are already in the big business of government—at state, federal and/or local levels. And those that aren’t are looking to get in, said one Omaha-based attendee.

And while some VARs said the money isn’t exactly flowing yet, one Dallas-area solution provider said he’s already seen a significant uptick in business. “They may not have the money yet,” he said of government and education customers, “but they know it’s coming and they’re starting to spend.” Even war-torn countries try to keep their schools running and businesses open, he noted. So, he seemed to be saying, what’s our excuse?

So, after so many depressing earnings and other calls,  it’ s nice to be at an event where both attendees and presenters are optimistic. Enough with the doom and gloom already.
