Microsoft, Citrix rumors: Here we go again

VMworld 2008 kicks off Monday and all through the blogs,  lots of creatures are stirring with tales of a soon-to-be-announced Microsoft buyout of Citrix.
this little gem earlier. That blog, in turn, links to this John Dvorak podcast which also touches on the subject.

No idea if this is true. But if you’ve been around long enough, you know enough not to rule anything out. A Microsoft tender offer is possible. And, what a blockbuster counter-programming move for Microsoft timed for when 14,000 VMware partners and customers converge on Las Vegas.

Might be sweet payback for how VMware sucked all the oxygen out of this year’s Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference when it ousted Diane Green and replaced her with former Microsoft platforms guru Paul Maritz.

Could be an interesting few days. Or maybe not.
