Massachusetts governor, and Friend Of Barack, Deval Patrick is heading to high-tech hubs in Seattle, Portland, and Silicon Valley to lobby for more IT jobs for the commonwealth.

Patrick will meet with folks at Microsoft, Google, and Hewlett-Packard, according to published reports. Those companies all have sites in the Bay State–Microsoft alone employs more than 1,000 people in Mass., at its Cambridge, Waltham and Beverly facilities. Groove development remains in Beverly although Redmond sucked top Groover  Ray Ozzie into the borg where he is now Chief Software Architect. Here’s betting that Patrick will  play the hometown card with Ozzie himself.

Other west coast big IT companies with bay presence include Oracle and Sun Microsystems. One would think Patrick would swing by Redwood Shores and Santa Clara as well.
