Actually came across this item before Christmas, when I was research IT solution providers’ use of social media. Managed services provider and systems integrator FusionStorm has established a foundation to support research and awareness about climate change and other “complex issues that face our planet.”

The first project being taking on by the new FusionStorm Foundation is Project Kaisel, which is focused on cleaning up man-made, man-disseminated marine debris. The initiative is part of Ocean Voyages Institute, which is based in Sausalito, Calif. (FusionStorm is based in San Francisco.) The initial focus is on activities in the North Pacific Gyre and a patch of plastic that is thought to spread out thousands of millions across the ocean. There’s more information about the project on the link that I provided above.

So, here’s my question to other IT solution providers reading this simple post: What is your company doing for your community or environment other than residing there? Would love to hear about all the cool things you’re doing.
