Vendor partner business issues

He’s back! Taylor Macdonald, the former VAR who was instrumental in developing the channel programs for CRM vendor Sage Software, has taken on the post of vice president of channels, America, for education software company Promethean.

The developer’s software is focused on applications that help teachers create digital lessons that combine text, audio, web and video content. It’s Activclassroom products work with the Activboard classroom whiteboard. It also sells wireless handhelds called Learner Response Systems.

Personally speaking, I think this is one of those sleeper technology categories that is poised to boom. The one big challenge to Macdonald and Promethean’s VARs will be the current hackjob that is being done on school budgets.

Macdonald most recently was vice president for worldwide channels at Deltek.
