If you have been around ITKE for a while you know who I am. But in case you are new, and I am sure we have a few new people then let me take the optotuinity to say a big hello!

My name as you can see is David Vasta. I currently live in Charlotte, NC and work for a manufacturing company in Rock Hill, SC. I am one of the many Lotus Administrators in the company and love working with Lotus products. I have over 20 years in I.T.

I started on the AS/400 in 1990 and over time became an Administrator, then in 1999 someone introduced me to Lotus Domino on the AS/400. I learned a great deal about it working at REAL Solutions (They are out of business) and slowly over time ended up in a few System i + Lotus companies over the years. I picked up more and more Lotus skills and eventually ended up where I am now doing 100% Lotus support. I have left the System i behind but not forgotten it. It’s still very near and dear to my heart. Lotus runs so well on the System i, give it a try you will love it.

I am also a Certified UNIX Administrator and love using Linux. At home I use a mix of MacOSX for most of my day to day at home stuff. I think the Mac offers the best of two worlds. Good UNIX on the back end and one great UI. I have a few Linux Servers at home and one Gateway Netbook running Windows 7…. and I kind of like it. I know I should not but I do? Go figure?

I am an avid reader of Linux Journal as well.

In my free time I am learning Lotus Development (Something I enjoy and struggle with). I have an Open Source Project on OpenNTF.org I am starting. I also love to Kart race, both indoor and outdoor. I have a nice Cannondale Mountain Bike and am currently expecting a Road bike any minute….DING DONG…that must be the UPS Man! I have to run. More post are coming.
