That Yahoo is saying this is needed to improve culture is questionable, as many recent studies and reports have shown that those who work from home are more productive and tuned in.
The New York Times had an interesting article about this topic today. Reading between the lines, the implication is that Ms. Meyer sees the employees of Yahoo as lazy and unproductive. If that’s the case, changing the culture at Yahoo will only do so much. Bringing in new employees might be the answer. Maybe that is the goal here – get remote workers to quit and refill the positions in-house.]]>
